About the ASPCA Carson
Community Veterinary Clinic

A collage of three scenes in a veterinary clinic: top left shows a man gently holding a small dog; top right shows a veterinarian in full surgical gear performing a procedure; bottom image shows two veterinary professionals carefully working on a sedated cat on an exam table, with illustrated hearts above them.

Have you ever wondered what happens to LA’s cats and dogs whose owners are unable to afford veterinary care? We have and we’re taking action. The ASPCA Community Medicine team provides affordable and fee-waived veterinary services to under-resourced communities, and we’re building a brand-new Community Veterinary Clinic (CVC) in Carson, California, to help pet owners overcome barriers to care. Opening in 2026, the Carson CVC will offer high-quality, high-volume spay/neuter services as well as basic and preventive veterinary care to eligible clients.

Two photos from an ASPCA facility: the top image shows a young boy interacts with a small white dog while ASPCA staff assist during a veterinary checkup; the bottom image shows veterinary professionals examining a black and white dog, with one person offering a treat while another checks the dog’s vitals.

Community Medicine

In Community Medicine, we treat people and pets with dignity and respect, assisting pet owners in making informed decisions about their pets’ health and wellbeing regardless of their financial circumstances. We strive to improve access to crucial veterinary services, and the Carson CVC will also work with local shelters and rescuers to support the goal of ending the euthanasia of adoptable animals in the greater Los Angeles area. When you work with us, you join a team of dedicated colleagues with deep knowledge, skills and compassion for the animals and people we serve.
