Who We Are
ASNA is the premier training center for high-quality, high-volume spay/neuter (HQHVSN) services and education. Since 2005, we have altered an average of 20,000 animals annually and trained more than 6,500 veterinary professionals and student externs at our Asheville campus. As a high‑volume clinic and teaching hospital, we help agencies nationwide open, operate and sustain high-quality spay/neuter programs, and we provide extensive free online training through ASPCAPro and ASPCA Learn. We are proud to set the standard of care for HQHVSN and to support the next generation of veterinary professionals.
What You’ll Do
In this role, you’ll take charge of our internal resource library, which empowers our staff to shine in their roles as animal caregivers. You’ll craft classroom presentations for our students that transform complex concepts into practical skills that make a real impact. And you’ll create engaging and effective resources to share with our network of spay/neuter clinics (and beyond!) to make a significant difference for cats and dogs nationwide.
With your project management savvy, a keen eye for accuracy and consistency, emotional intelligence and knack for creativity, you’ll shine as a key member of our go-getting team.
The Manager, Educational Content & Design reports directly to the Director, Educational Content and has no direct reports.
Where and When You’ll Work
The position is an on-site role and reports to the ASPCA Spay/Neuter Alliance campus in Asheville, NC.
Typical hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday to Thursday and 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Fridays. This role requires flexibility in schedule to accommodate program needs, which could include varied daily shifts, weekends, evenings and holidays. Schedules are subject to change at the sole discretion of the ASPCA.
Ability to travel up to 5% as needed

Compensation
Starting pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of factors, including but not limited to education, training, experience, location, business needs, internal equity, market demands or budgeted amount for the role. The target hiring range is for new hire offers only, and staff compensation may increase beyond the maximum hiring range based on performance over time. The maximum of the hiring range is reserved for candidates with the highest qualifications and relevant experience. The expected hiring salary range for this role is set forth below and may be modified in the future.
The target range for this position is $28.85 - $31.25 hourly.

Responsibilities:

Internal Resource Library Management
Create and format internal-facing documents, standard operating procedures, staff training and employee resources
Ensure accuracy, quality, and consistency across internal documentation
Oversee documentation workflows for ASNA staff, including review and updates
Manage the internal resource library to ensure materials are current, accessible and easy to use
Visual Design
Design and format external-facing teaching resources, marketing materials and presentations to clearly communicate information and reflect the ASPCA brand
Design campus signage to create a cohesive visit experience
Simplify complex concepts, data and stories into informative, digestible, visually engaging materials that clarify our mission and maximize our impact for our internal and external audiences
Collaborate with Creative Strategy & Branding to ensure all assets and collateral are visually consistent and adhere to the ASPCA Brand Book
Administrative
Participate and contribute updates during team and departmental meetings and work cross-functionally with other members of the team
Engage in consistent and regular reporting to manager, including giving and receiving effective feedback
Other responsibilities as required by manager

Qualifications
Excellent eye for detail
Fluency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word and Excel required
Strong sense of written language

Education and Work Experience
High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
3+ years of professional experience in graphic design or bachelor’s or associate’s degree in related field required
Experience with Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator required
Experience with branding and ability to adhere to company design guidelines for brand, style, colors, fonts, etc. required
Experience in photography and/or videography, including Premiere Pro, a plus
Experience working in Canva or similar software a plus
Portfolio must be submitted with application to showcase recent engaging design work
