Summary:

The ASPCA’s Behavioral Rehabilitation Center (BRC) in Weaverville, NC, is the first and only facility dedicated to the rehabilitation and study of extremely fearful, under socialized dogs, such as those confiscated from puppy mills and hoarding situations. The goal of the entire BRC team is to work together to improve these dogs’ quality of life and prepare them for life in adoptive homes---an impossible outcome without intensive, structured behavioral interventions and integrative holistic care.

The BRC is currently looking for an attentive temporary Laundry Attendant to support the functions of our behavioral rehabilitation work. This role will provide daily assistance to the Care & Enrichment Team regarding washing, drying and folding laundry, organizing and basic cleaning tasks.

The target hiring range for this temporary role is $12.00-$15.00 per hour and may be modified in the future.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Laundry (65%):

  • Collect laundry and place into washers & dryers
  • Sorting, washing, drying and folding blankets, sheets, toys and other items
  • Ensuring that the laundry area remains clean and always organized
  • Keeping an updated inventory of all laundry supplies and communicating supply needs to the Senior Director of Operations
  • Restock supplies as necessary

Cleaning & Organizing (35%):

  • Vacuuming, sweeping and moping of cement flooring
  • Washing and drying windows
  • Emptying trash cans
  • Keeping updated inventory of cleaning supplies and communicating supply needs to Senior Director of Operations
  • Putting away deliveries of supplies in designated spaces
  • Other duties as assigned

Schedule:

Wednesday - Sunday; 11:00am - 5:00pm

Compensation:

The target hiring range for this temporary role is $12.00-$15.00 per hour and may be modified in the future.



 

Qualifications:

Consistently positive attitude; Enjoys working directly with people; Respects team members at all levels; Ability to complete tasks on time with minimal supervision; Familiarity with cleaning products, detergents and laundering equipment; Able to stand for long periods of time; Ability to interact with diverse personalities and groups; Physical capacity to move, stand, bend, push and lift up to 50lbs; Reliable transportation to regular scheduled shifts; Evening & weekend availability

Education and Work Experience:

High School Diploma (Required)

  

Fear Free certified or obtained within 60 days of employment, Personal, volunteer or professional experience handling cats preferred but not required
